I Could Live in
Hope
Words
Three inches above the floor
Man in a box wants to burn my soul
And I'm tired, and I'm tired
Is that the truth, he says
That pain is easy to put in words
Too many words
And I can hear 'em
If you're hearing screams
Come back child, come back
My hands are dry
But I know they're gonna make it
Just one more night
Too many words, too many words
Fear
If you see my daughter
Don't tell her I'm scared
Forty days without water
Feel my hands on her hair
I fear
Cut
Jesse's gone inside out
Someone brush her quiet mouth
Charity's friend she was I know
Fill her cup and leave her alone
Distance fails but it keeps her alive
Thinks that evil's on her side
Gets rid of things that don't matter
She used to let me cut her hair
Jesse's gone inside out
She used to let me cut her hair
Slide
They tell you come tomorrow
Nothing for you now
You listen so intently
And slide
Hearing only yourself
You wait for the truth
How can you get it
When all you do
Is slide
Lazy
It's not enough
There's not enough for two
Sarah you're lazy
She says it's not enough for two
Sarah you're lazy
Lullaby
Cross over and turn
Feel the spot don't let it burn
We all want we all yearn
Be soft don't be stern
Lullaby
Was not supposed to make you cry
I sang the words I meant
I sang
Sea
The sea is a long, long way from me
I'd go there if I had the time
But lying here will do just fine
Down
I guess the secret's out
Like a river flows
It's never over done
Out of control
I guess the secret's out
My simple goal
You'll be the one, too
Out of control
Out of my control
I guess the secret's out
Above me looking down
It's not supposed to be that way
Out of control
Drag
I'm sorry but I can't hold on
It works much better if I let it drag me around
I'm sorry if I'm losing ground
It works much better if I let it drag me around
Rope
You're gonna need more
Don't ask me to kick any chairs out from under you
Sunshine
You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
The other night, dear
As I lay sleeping
I dreamt I held you in my arms
When I awoke, dear
I was mistaken
So I hung my head and cried
You are my sunshine
My only sunshine
You make me happy
When skies are grey
You'll never know, dear
How much I love you
Please don't take my sunshine away
Please don't take my sunshine away

Long Division
Violence
Lent you my favourite dictionary
Came back with ripped out pages
Stopped by so uninvited
Wasted good silverware on you
You can't trust violence
Below & Above
Once you felt alive
Present for a time
Those below you whore themselves
Those above you know
You're a friend of mine
Bound by chains and wires
Those below you whore themselves
Those above you know
Shame
A long time you waited
You thought it had abated
Shame of it all
The harm that it causes
Pours down like a faucet
Shame of it all
Throw Out The
Line
Throw out the line
Man overboard
Passenger fall
Maybe the angels will take him
Come back no more
Bride of my thoughts and anger
Nothing to show
Patience and strength come springtime
Where will you go
Throw out the line
Swingin'
Don't look up
I'll have to dictate from the ground
Don't mind the sound
It's all familiar by now
And I'm swingin' so high
Unforgiven
Unimpressed by my first draft
She's a sinker
I should have taught her how to swim
And I'm swingin' so high
See-through
You were discovered bended over the dead
Only to find out you were not even in the room
See through but solid, holy but complete
All will be followed
Seen to, tended none the least
Turn
I never thought you took me seriously
I never thought you'd be the one to turn me in
I thought you saw me on the roof
I didn't think you'd be the one to turn me in
Caroline
Caroline, we don't have much time
Mercy lies in the one you hide
Caroline, we don't have much time
Mercy lies in the ones we hide
You don't need to be outside
You can stand with me in line
Alone
If I could get you alone
Would you take me back home
You remind me that I'm weak
You remind me I can fly
You remind me I can't read
You remind me so I try
Streetlight
And you can see her
Before it cracks and goes out
She throws rocks at streetlights
Keeps the streetlight changer busy
Stay
It's much too late for the action
You've made this place unbecoming
Do I have to stay
These eyes have one more discovery
Will it be wasted on monday
Do I have to stay
Take
And then they take it all away
How many years have I been away
Anon
Clean bill of health
Five years at the bell
No one will admit
The time or the places they've been
Anon
Three scales of men
Trace back to begin
No one will admit
Ignoring the age of my skin
Anon
The Plan
On the step you handed me
Pieces of the plan
At the gate you handed me
Pieces of the plan
Can I hold it for a week
Over The
Ocean
I'm over the ocean
Over the hills, over the dell
Over the fireline
Over the sand, over the plan
Over the empire
And if I belong, then I’ll be longer than expected
And if I'm wrong, the mighty and strong will be rejected
Mom Says
Mom says
The astronauts will bring it home
Mom says
The car won't make it to the lake
But I don't know
Mom says
A farm's the best place to call home
But I don't know
Mom says
We ruined her body
Coattails
He rides on coattails
Standby
You'll take it back
Glory and failure
You'll take it back
Pure and unpunctured
Standby
You'll take it back
You'll bring home the frame
You'll take it back
And weed through the black
Standby
Take back
Laugh
They're gonna laugh
Behind your back
Once you're able to stand
Steal your mattress, sever your hand
Lust
Are you finding answers
Are you speaking in tongues
Are you filled with anger
Are you filled with lust
Is it easy to bargain
Is it easy to last
Are you filled with anger
Are you filled with lust
Would it kill you to trust
Stars Gone
Out
It's for certain
I never thought I'd last
Never thought the sea would try
It's for certain
You can tie me to the mast
Goodbye to all the land and lies
And when all the stars have gone out
They won't fall, you can hear them crying
And when all the stars have gone out
They're not gone, you can hear them dying
And it say it's enough
Same
I'm tired of waking up in the same clothes
And the same holes in my skin
And the same notes, in the same hair
And the same words to the same words
To the same songs in my head
Do You
Know How To Waltz
One more dance
Before they take away the light
One more spin around the line
One more step
And then we'll turn and face the debt
One more reason to forget
Dark
There are many things to be afraid of
Like ghosts and death and climbing too high
There are many things to be afraid of
But don't be afraid of the dark
Secret Name
I remember
I remember every number
I remember graduation
I remember painted faces
No they couldn't believe it was you
I knew
Starfire
We'll call it starfire
Who will know
I want a station of my own
I have the tools
I have my rule
I'll load the back and you can drive
Broken bodies all the time
Let's take a ride
Starfire tonight
Ten thousand miles away
Away
Two-step
And the light, it burns your skin
In a language you don't understand
It's not that hard
It is not that hard
That's not all
Voices small
Heed them either way they call
Two-step around the room
Kneel down on white
Two-step around the room
Kneel down on white
Two-step around the room
You can kneel down on white
Two-step around the room
You can kneel down on white
That's not all
Voices small
Heed them either way they call
And the light, it burns your skin
In a language you don't understand
Weight of water
Take a cupful from your hand
Wait for forty days
Make a river through the sand
'Til you're called by a secret name
And the weight of the water has brought me back to this
Just leave me to the river
Let it cleanse my face
I have no power to ward it
Like the baptism of the earth
And the weight of the water has brought me back to this
And the step where you stood
As I bleed from the wound
How I cower to that weight
Still I’ll make this water home
Missouri
Oh, speak to me Adam and Eve
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
You wanted it back, faces painted black
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
What did you get for your dishes and sweat
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
Oh, speak to me Adam and Eve
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
Oh, Missouri
Don't understand
Carry the weight
And wait at the last
Bloodied my leg
And buried my fist
I don't understand
I don't understand
I send it away
Now it's back in my breast
And drag you to town
Treat you just like a son
Alone in my house
Did they teach you to run
I don't understand
I don't understand
I don't understand
Soon
Soon it will be over
I laughed under my breath over your shoulder
There's a message out tonight
Nobody's looking at the sky
Soon it will be over
I laughed under my breath over your shoulder
You think that I don't know your name
And now your face is all in flames
You think that I don't know your name
And now I’ll stand there all amazed
Immune
Tell me is the time as slow
Only when your eyes are closed
Do we stand to waste some more
Am I still immune
Am I naked too
Does it taste like home
Only when your eyes are closed
Have you been away too long
Am I still immune
Am I naked too
Am I naked too
Tell me is the time as slow
Only when your eyes are closed
Is the point to stay too long
Am I still immune
Am I naked too
Am I naked too
Feels like being used
Lion/lamb
Don't go without, we'd surely die
To go without is suicide
Are you a lion or a lamb
Are you as guilty as i am
Are you a lion or a lamb
Are you as guilty as I am
Days of
It was one of those days
Of salvation and loss
Just one of those days
When you weight for the worst
First they hold you for a ransom
Then they buy you for a song
Just one of those days
When you laugh at what you've done
How they ripped you from the pages
Oh you waited for the best
It was one of those days
Of salvation and loss
Will the night
Will the night last forever
Stay by my side
'Cause tonight, together
Would be divine
But once it's gone
Your face to hide
Against the sun
The moon
Am I on the other side
So blind
So long
Goodbye
Goodnight
Home
Home, everybody wants to go home
Even when they're old
Even when they're small
Home, everybody wants to go home
Even when they're old
Even when they're small
Home
Home
Home
Home
Old man song
Once he was up in a plane
Saw the world as it was
Only to come down again
Only to come down again
Left to his own accord
He would sit up all night
Nothing from anyone else
Nothing from anyone else
Clothes that hang on his frame
Now he could go either way
Marvels at what he believes
Marvels at what he can see
Last
breath
I held your last breath in my hand.
I held your last word in my heart.
Without the recourse,
Without the liable,
Without your reasons,
What more do I know
I held your last breath in my hand.
I held your last word in my heart.
I held your last hope in my mouth.
I held your last trust in my heart.
Heart, heart

Christmas
Just Like Christmas
On our way from Stockholm
Started to snow
And you said it was like Christmas
But you were wrong
It wasn't like Christmas at all
By the time we got to Oslo
Snow was gone
And we got lost
The beds were small
But we felt so young
It was just like Christmas
It was just like Christmas
It was just like Christmas
It was just like Christmas…
Long Way Around
the Sea
We've come so far
We've followed the star
Harod heard
Said "bring me word"
Take the long way around the sea
Here for us
A humble birth
The son of God
Descends to earth
Take the long way around the sea
On Christmas day
On bended knee
Please accept
The gifts we bring
Take the long way around the sea
Take the long way around the sea
We turn to go
An angel shone
Said, "don't go back
To harod's throne"
Take the long way around the sea
Take the long way around the sea
Take the long way around the sea
Take the long way around the sea
The Little
Drummer Boy
Come, they told me
Pa romp pa pom pom
A newborn king you'll see
Pa romp pa pom pom
Our finest gifts we bring
Pa romp pa pom pom
To lay before the king
Pa romp pa pom pom
Romp pa pom pom, romp pa pom pom
So to honor Him, pa romp pa pom pom
When we come
Baby Jesus
Pa romp pa pom pom
I am a poor boy too
Pa romp pa pom pom
I have no gift to bring
Pa romp pa pom pom
That fit to give our king
Pa romp pa pom pom
Romp pa pom pom, romp pa pom pom
Shall I play for You, pa romp pa pom pom
On my drum
Mary nodded
Pa romp pa pom pom
The ox and lamb kept time
Pa romp pa pom pom
I played my drum for Him
Pa romp pa pom pom
I played my best for Him
Pa romp pa pom pom
Romp pa pom pom, romp pa pom pom
Then He smiled at me, pa romp pa pom pom
Me and my drum
If You Were Born
Today
If you were born today
We'd kill you by age eight
Never get the chance to say
Joy to the world and
Peace on the earth
Forgive them for they know not what they do
Blessed are the meek and
Blessed are the humble
Blessed are the ninety and nine
Deny the flesh
Deny all that's evil
Tonight you'll deny me thrice
If you were born today
We'd kill you by age eight
Ever get the chance to say...
Blue Christmas
I'll have a blue blue Christmas without you
I'll be so blue just thinking about you
Decorations of red on a green Christmas tree
Won't mean a thing if you're not here with me
I'll have a blue Christmas that's certain
And when that blue heartaches starts hurting
You'll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas
You'll be doing alright with your Christmas of white
But I’ll have a blue, blue Christmas
Silent Night
Silent night, holy night
All is calm, all is bright
Round yon Virgin Mother and Child
Holy Infant so tender and mild
Sleep in heavenly peace
Sleep in heavenly peace
Silent night, holy night!
Shepherds quake at the sight
Glories stream from heaven afar
Heavenly hosts sing Alleluia!
Christ, the Saviour is born
Christ, the Saviour is born
Silent night, holy night
Son of God, love's pure light
Radiant beams from Thy holy face
With the dawn of redeeming grace
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Jesus, Lord, at Thy birth
Taking Down the
Tree
Careful, one by one
It is undone
Seems before it's over
It's begun
Another broken reindeer
Another candle
Another velvet ribbon
Another nosebleed
Winding up the lights
We set the star so high
So high
So high
One Special Gift
After we've spent all the money
On nieces and nephews
And a couple of friends
There'll be just enough left
For one special gift
For one special gift
For one special guest
Sunflower
When they found your body
Giant X's on your eyes
With your half of the ransom
You bought some sweet, sweet, sweet
Sweet sunflowers
And gave them to the night
Underneath the star of David
A hundred years behind my eyes
And with my half of the ransom
I bought some sweet, sweet, sweet
Sweet sunflowers
And gave them to the night
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet sunflowers
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet sunflowers
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet sunflowers
Sweet, sweet, sweet, sweet sunflowers
And gave them to the night
Whitetail
Stay up all night
Waste time, waste light
Closer, closer
Ever closer
You win, you fail
Exit whitetail
Closer, closer
Maybe closer
Dinosaur Act
You and your daughter
And your father
Flew airplanes
You and your sister
Can tell by the back of her hands
It was a dinosaur act
Dinosaur act
Dinosaur act
Dinosaur act
After expenses
And pulling up fences
No more airplanes
And putting your foot down
A nail shot up like a bright red snowflake
Just like a dinosaur act
Dinosaur act
Dinosaur act
Dinosaur act
Dinosaur
And all through the dust
You feel that you must hear the strings of a dove
But it's a dinosaur act

Medicine
Magazines
They'll never cure this thing
With medicine and magazines
I know you play your part
You cover up your ever-aching heart
No one knows where you are
And no one thought you'd ever
Get that far
And how can it be that fun
When everyone around you
Dies so young
And I'm not your favourite one
But who will walk you out
When it's all done
Laser Beam
I don't need a laser beam
I don't need the time
Leave me in the car tonight
Rest your drunken mind
I need your grace alone
Lesser things are on your mind
Don't you think I know
Will this poison scar my eyes
Mother, close the door
I need your grace alone
I don't need a laser beam
I don't need a laser beam
July
Wait, it's late
We've missed the date
Gone, I guess
With the rest, the rest
They'll never wake us in time
They'll never wake us in time
Maybe we'll wait 'til July
Now, at last
I hear them pass
Gone, I guess
With the rest, the rest
They'll never wake us in time
They'll never wake us in time
Maybe we'll wait 'til July
Then August, September
October, November or December
La la, la la la
Embrace
Holding my head for the last of race
Pushing my body to get that embrace
It won't last, hold on fast
It won't last, hold on fast
Breathing in time, so hard to trace
Crushing your skull with my warming embrace
It won't last, hold on fast
It won't last, hold on fast
I fell down the stairs
I wished I were dead
You ran for the light
He handed me your head
It won't last
It won't last, hold on fast
It won't last, hold on fast
Whore
You will get your reward
You will get your reward
What is the whore you're living for
Is it so wrong to think there's more
There's always one worth waiting for
What is the whore you're living for
You fill the house with bells
But who can live like that
You wanna speak like angels
But you can't
Kind Of Girl
Half your life you kept it in
Born without a stomach
Now the thread around you spins
No, you're not that kind of girl
No, you could've had the world
Every time they lift you up
Every time more thread to cut
Seems like you've been cut enough
No, you're not that kind of girl
No, you could've had the world
Now lesser things
Pull the strings
Of priests and kings
No, you're not that kind of girl
No, you could've had the world
Like A Forest
Black, like a forest
And still, like a lion
My knees are bended
We used to speak
A different language
I wasted my breath
On words soon forgotten
Left unattended
They're moving their feet
But nobody's dancing
Ah, take your time
Ah, take your time
How can I blame you
For all of the screaming
That i've had to turn to
Just in time
To go off in my hands
Closer
Hold me closer than that
Hold me closer than that
How'd we get here so fast?
Hold me closer than that
On a dark, raging sea
Ships lay sleeping beneath
Overhead, spinning past
Hold me closer than that
Things we lost in the fire
How'd we ever get by
Words will never take back
Hold me closer than that
Hold me closer than that
Hold me closer than that
How'd we get here so fast?
Hold me closer than that

In Metal
Filling holes with tiny sounds
Shining from the inside out
Picture of you where it began
In metal
In metal
Partly hate to see you grow
And just like your baby shoes
Wish I could keep your little body
In metal
In metal
In metal
In metal
In metal

Trust
(That's How You
Sing) Amazing Grace
I knew this girl when I was young
She took her spikes from everyone
One night she swallowed up the lake
That's how you sing amazing grace
Amazing grace
Amazing grace
It sounds like razors in my ears
That bell's been ringing now for years
Someday I'll give it all away
That's how you sing amazing grace
Oh, can you hear that sweet sweet sound
Yeah, I was lost but now I'm found
Sometimes there's nothing left to save
That's how you sing amazing grace
Amazing grace
That's how you sing amazing grace
Canada
I'm not scared of waking up
I'm not afraid of getting cut
'Cause you can't take that stuff to Canada
You can't take it anywhere
You could la la la la la
And you could lie to all your friends
But you can't take that stuff to Canada
You can't take it anywhere
I used to have a golden tongue
But now the words just feel like stones
'Cause you can't take that stuff to Canada
You can't take it anywhere
Candy Girl
Candy girl
You sing that song so well
Candy girl
You try to stand so still
Wasting all our days
With Gillian and Dave
Candy girl
Candy girl
Candy girl
You sing that song so well
Time Is The
Diamond
If I'm not a lion
And I'm not an island
If time is the diamond
Well all right
Got a weak pair of lungs
From a childhood disease
Will it ever come clean
Well all right
Tried to learn from the past
Keep my fist in my mouth
But they just keep falling out
Well all right
Well all right
If I'm not a lion
And I'm not an island
If time is the diamond
Well all right
Well all right
Tonight
Trying to keep time
Closer than we like
Memories still lie
Tonight
Faces of the day
Pressed up to your spine
Blessings still to come
Tonight
Tonight
Precious things unsaid
As the night begins
Who will hang his head
Tonight
Tonight
Tonight
The Lamb
You go west
Where they won't find you
With your mother's breast
And the poison arrows
'Cause you see black
And I see shadows
I am the lamb
And I'm a dead man
They'll take my name
And feed my children
With my remains
In the holy temple
'Cause I am the lamb
And I'm a dead man
I am the lamb
And I'm a dead man
In The Drugs
I was a child
I was on fire
But I stayed alive while all else died
I held my breath
What could I say
And I closed my eyes like Marvin Gaye
But now I've had enough
It's in the drugs
It's in the drugs
It's in the drugs, ah
It's in the drugs
You had your plan
A heavy hand
But the weight was more than you could stand
Breaking like dolls
Singing like birds
We always get what we deserve
But now I've had enough
It's in the drugs
It's in the drugs
Last Snowstorm of
the Year
When we were young
We wanted to die
But the sound of a drum
And the words of a child
Brought different light
Now no one can tell
The winter was nice
But the summer is hell
The ground was so hard
The nights were so long
But we suffered the dark
And we wrote all those songs
Still I was a fool
I covered my ears
No I would not face the last snowstorm of the year
No I would not face the last snowstorm of the year
John Prine
I verified the math
And double-checked the syntax
I tried to heal your body
But it just kept coming back
You never had a chance
I thought I was a poet
I had so much to say
But now I want to see the blood
I want to make them pay
Yeah, I can see the day
I made a place for children
They wanted all the answers
I gave them all my lectures
And now they're perfect dancers
'Cause I'm a perfect dancer

Little Argument
With Myself
I want to believe
I want to believe
I want to believe
I want to believe
Just keep counting the stars
Like someday you'll find out
Just how many there are
And we all can go home
'Cause there's nothing as sad
As a man on his back
Counting stars
But, I want to believe
Yes, I want to believe
'Cause there's nothing as sad
As a man on his back
Counting stars
La La La Song
All there years you've been speaking without breathing
Spinning closer to the sun
Had your way with an unsuspecting public
Little threads are all it takes
La la la la ...
I have learned all your secrets, so familiar
I know where you lay your head
Fear of god and a disappointing father
Holds the hand around your neck
La la la la ...
Sometimes I could just choke myself with laughter
Sometimes everything's so true
So when you come down from your death-defying labors
I'll still be in love with you
La la la la ...
Point of Disgust
Once, I was lost
To the point of disgust
I had in my sight
Lack of vision
Lack of light
I fell hard
I fell fast
Mercy me
It'll never last
Then, in the dust
All the things
We discussed
Were thrown to the wind
So at last
We begin
'Cause we fall hard
We fall fast
Mercy me
It'll never last
Shots and
Ladders
They're gonna build a ladder
It's gonna take you forever
You're always such a disaster
But all you hear is laughter
They want to keep you for more tests
Stick a needle in your chest
And send you home to your own bed
And kiss your beautiful forehead
See how you feel in the morning

The Great
Destroyer
Monkey
Oh my my
Little white lies
I swear I'm gonna make it right
This time
It's not the radio
Turn it way down low
Telling me things I do not know I know
Tonight you will be mine
Tonight the monkey dies
Tonight you will be mine
Tonight the monkey dies
Now who's to blame
You used to be the same
Now you won't let me speak your name
What a shame
It's a suicide
Shut up and drive
We're never going to make the light
But it's all right
Tonight you will be mine
Tonight the monkey dies
Tonight you will be mine
Tonight the monkey dies...
California
See your reflection in your mind
You keep your revelations wide eyed
They knew just where to draw the line
You let them get you every time
Though it breaks your heart
We had to sell the farm
Back to California where it's warm
It fell around you like the stars
You picked up everything they dropped
And though it breaks you like a song
You had some secrets of your own
(repeat chorus)
It's warm
It's warm
Though it breaks your heart
We had to sell the farm
Nights were just too long
With all your children gone
Would it keep you strong
If I said it with a song
Back to California where it's warm
Everybody's Song
Pour yourself another cup another cup another cup
And wait
I can't wait forever
Live your life
A stupid life a stupid life a stupid life
Nobody does it better
Breaking everybody's heart
Taking everyone apart
Breaking everybody's heart
Singing everybody's song
All your dreams are waking up are waking up are waking up in space
You can't sleep forever
Every day you torture us you torture us you torture us
Nothing stays together
(repeat chorus)
Silver
Rider
At times I see you, you silver rider
Sometimes your voice is not enough
Your face in windows outside forever
Nobody dreamed you'd save the world
Nobody dreamed you'd save the world
Your march is over
The great destroyer
She passes through you like a knife
Oh take me with you
You silver rider
Sometimes your voice is not enough
Sometimes your voice is not enough
Just Stand
Back
I can't decide and I can't hide
Make up my mind it's a waste of time
Here comes the knife
You better just stand back
I could turn on you so fast
It's a hit its got soul
Steal the show with your rock n' roll
With a swing like that you better just stand back
I could turn on you so fast
Just like diamonds in your hand
I'll just cut you in the end
One more step and I'll slit your neck
You'll get use to it you better just stand back
I could turn on you so fast
I could turn on you so fast
I could turn on you so fast
Just like diamonds in your hand
I could turn on you so fast
I just cut you in the end
I could turn on you so fast
On The
Edge Of
Soft from your lips to the rise of your stomach
Your lungs filled with fingers keep jamming words down my throat
Nothing to steal we've got nothing to love
Nothing to spill because oh we're so innocent oh
Oh on the edge of
Oh on the edge of
I could have built you a house on the ocean
The ocean repeating and receding into the sun
So cut to you dead and now cut to the laughing
Cut through our bodies and lastly into our oh
Oh on the edge of
Oh
Oh on the edge of
Cue The
Strings
Before you speak
The words are plain to see
Upon your skin
They sing, they dance and spin
So what, pray tell
Will save you now
Here comes that cold sunrise
And at the peak
We reach to cue the strings
They ring
So sweet
They lay in plain relief
So what, pray tell
Will save you now
Here comes that cold sunrise
Here comes that cold sunrise
Step
The levee's breaking
Feel it shakin' like the dirt
All the kids are sleeping
Silent dreams beneath their heads
Go to wake up screamin'
Little lights above your bed
Hey, keep an eye on what you say
You think the words just walk away
But they creep into my brain
Sinking deep into my step
My step
I am the walrus darlin'
No one ever knows my name
You are the chorus sweet thing
Never sing that song again
Hey, keep an eye on what you say
You think the words just walk away
But they're creepin' through my brain
Sinkin' deep into my step
My step
(chorus repeated)
When I Go
Deaf
When I go deaf
I won't even mind
I'll be all right
I'll be just fine
I'll stay out all night
Looking at the sky
I'll still have my sight
Yeah, I'll still have my eyes
And, we will make love
We won't have to fight
We won't have to speak
And we won't have to lie
And, I’ll stop writing songs
Stop scratching out lines
I won't have to think
And it won't have to rhyme
When I go deaf
When I go deaf
When I go deaf
When I go deaf
When I go deaf
When I go deaf
When I go deaf
When I go deaf
Broadway
(So Many People)
Last night just north of Houston
Broadway so many people
Through your third story window
I see my favourite record store
Where is the laughter
Where is the laughter
Smiling, tasting the irony
Broadway so many people
Outside just round the corner
Letter and Bob Marley t-shirts
Where is the laughter
Where is the laughter
Baby, 10,000 years ago
Broadway so many people
Sleeping down at the factory
Waiting and singing so softly
Where is the laughter
Where is the laughter
The garden of Eden
The voices of children
Where is the laughter
Pissing
I can't see
Sing the darker of
Pissing on my toes
Knowing what I know
I know
I'm waiting
Like a loyal whore
Under every stone
Lovers sleep alone
Alone
Alone
Lovers sleep alone
Alone
Alone
Death of
a Salesman
So I took my guitar
And I threw down some chords
And some words I could sing without shame
And I soon had a song
I played it around
For some friends but they all said the same
They said music's for fools
You should go back to school
The future is prisms and math
So I did what they said
Now my children are fed
'Cause they pay me to do what I'm asked
I forgot all my songs
The words now are wrong
And I burned my guitar in a rage
But the fire came to rest
In your white velvet breast
So somehow I just know that it's safe
Walk Into
The Sea
I can walk into the sea
And I can choke away the memories
Do I have to stay alive
Just to keep our dresses white
You've come to me in dreams
With all the other pretty things
You tell me about a savior
And how his soul goes on forever
And time is just a hunger
It leads itself to nothing
When it finally takes us over
I hope we float away together
Yeah, time's the great destroyer
Leaves every child a bastard
But when it finally takes us over
I hope we float away together

Pretty People
All the soldiers
They're all gonna die
All the little babies
They're all gonna die
All the poets
And all the liars
And all you pretty people
You're all gonna die
Belarus
To my mouth
Frozen shut
Mother's son
Paper cup
Belarus
Belarus
Belarus
Belarus
Pressing light
Brighter sound
Black and white
Fading now
Belarus
Belarus
Belarus
Belarus
Breaker
Our bodies break
And the blood just spills and spills
But here we sit debating math
It's just a shame
My hand just kills and kills
There's gotta be an end to that
There's gotta be an end to that
Dragonfly
We took our pills
It changed the world
We had our fill
But when we realized
That we were dragonflies
We knew we had to try to find a way to get more pills
Maybe you're right
Maybe you're right
Oh dragonfly
Your thousand eyes
What do they see
The lines of history
Some things should never be
Why do we even try
There's no such thing as dragonfly pills
Maybe you're right
Maybe you're right
Oh dragonfly
Maybe you're right
Sandinista
Where would you go
If the gun fell in your hand
Home to the kids or to sympathetic friends
Oh Sandinista
Oh Sandinista
Oh Sandinista, take my side
Deep through the clouds
Hear them marching up slowly
Fresh with the blood
Of your fathers, so holy
Oh Sandinista
Oh Sandinista
Oh Sandinista, take my side
Take my side
Always
Fade
Come clean and off with your head
The streams of bright rosy red
Your heart will do the rest
And you'll always fade
You'll always fade
Someday you'll change
But you'll always fade
Cut free the weight on your neck
The screams, the clutching of breast
So sorry bout the mess
But you'll always fade
Someday you'll change
But you'll always fade
Dust on
the Window
Dust on the window
The sun's darkened angle
Write your initials with mine
At this time tomorrow
I'll be just one day closer
One sunset further behind
In the morning I'll make up my mind
Always a whisper
Worthless and tender
A break in my arm that won't heal
You lie like a shadow
Your breath on my pillow
You won't let me keep what I steal
Tell me where can a girl get a meal
Hatchet
You be my Charlie
And I can be your George
Let's bury the hatchet like the Beatles and the Stones
They'll play our songs forever on the radio
Let's bury the hatchet like the Beatles
The Beatles and the Stones
I know you've got a thing for ordinary guys
But I've heard your records and they sound a lot like mine
So you be my Marianne, and I'll be your Yoko
Let's bury the hatchet like the Beatles
The Beatles and the Stones
Like the Beatles
The Beatles and the Stones
Your
Poison
I've spent a lot of time
Good people
Trying to make it rhyme
Good people
It gave my mind a little place to hide
If you don't like my lines
Good people
You better open wide
Good people
Call the chief
It has become my belief that your tongue is the weapon
You cut what you reap with your poison
Your poison
Your poison
Your poison
Take Your
Time
So she waits on the edges of the mattress
What it takes to get a bad mess out of a bad dress
When she sings it's like a blue dove on a whipping post
When she speaks she thanks the good lord for the holy ghost
Take your time sweet thing
Take your time
Take your time sweet thing
Take your time
In
Silence
They put the treasure deep inside us
Inside us
Inside us
They thought the desert would divide us
Divide us
Divide us
With silence
With silence
With silence
With silence
They filled our hearts and hands with violence
With violence
With violence
It's time to leave the fields behind us
Behind us
Behind us
In silence
In silence
In silence
In silence
In silence
In silence
In silence
Murderer
One more thing before I go
One more thing I'll ask you, lord
You may need a murderer
Someone to do your dirty work
Don't act so innocent
I've seen you pound your fists into the earth
And I've read your books
Seems that you could use another fool
Well, I'm cruel
And I look right through
You must have more important things to do
So if you need a murderer
Someone to do your dirty work
Violent
Past
All I can do is fight
Even if I know you're right
All I can do is fight
Pretty fingers holding fast
Maybe it's your violent past
Maybe it's your violent past
All you can do is hide
God bless the darkness of the night
All you can do is hide
Pretty fingers, the golden calf
Maybe it's your violent past
Maybe it's your violent past
Maybe it's the violet path
Maybe it's your violent past
Maybe it's the violet path
Maybe it's your violent past
Try to Sleep
You try to sleep
'Cause there's never enough
You try to sleep
But then you never wake up
Inside the dream
You take a step
You come to see
To see your debt
Try to sleep
Don't look at the camera
Try to sleep
You stretch your wings
You take a breath
You hide your feet
Embrace your head
A tragedy
No, there's never enough
You try to sleep
But then you never wake up
Try to sleep
Don't look at the camera
Try to sleep
But then you never wake up
But then you never wake up
You never wake up
Never wake up
C'mon, wake up
You See
Everything
Quakin' with the ground
See my smile
Watch you frown
Pick it up
Lay it down
Life's too short
To be your clown
Your clown
You see everything
But I don't
Lift up the veil
Get me out of this well
On the shore
We recline
Come on in
The water's fine
So fine
You see everything
But I don't
You see everything
But I don't
You see everything
But I don't
You see everything
But I don't
You see everything
You see everything
Witches
You played the part of the one
Who was taken down by gods
All I could think about was how a guy
Like me could fight them off
And when you finally
Submitted to embarrassing capture
Out of the corner of my eye
I see my children in rapture
One night I got up and told my father
There were witches in my room
He gave me a baseball bat and said
"Here's what you do"
When you have finally
Submitted to embarrassing capture
Take out that baseball bat
And show those witches some pasture
All you guys out there
Trying to act like Al Green
All you guys out there
Trying to act like Al Green, you're all weak
Cause when you've finally
Submitted to embarrassing capture
All you guys out there
Gonna wish you were Al Green
Done
Left my lair
To the wind and the sand
With blood on my lips
And silver in hand
And I'm weary and stumbling
In the desert heat
Where raindrops, they burn up
Before they reach your cheek
Your cheek, your cheek
And if you see my love
And if you see my love
And if you see my love
Tell her I'm done
Especially Me
Cry me a river
So I can float over to you
The bearer to deliver the news
I'm over the moon
And underfoot
All these elixirs would be moot
'Cause if we knew where we belong
There'd be no doubt where we're from
But as it stands, we don't have a clue
Especially me and probably you
You've fallen in a slumber
Just wake one more time
To miss or put asunder
Would be a crime
Some songs feel like butter
Some songs sound like cake
This little number is for your sake
'Cause if we knew where we belong
There'd be no doubt where we're from
But as it stands, we don't have a clue
Especially me and probably you, probably you
'Cause if we knew where we belong
There'd be no doubt where we're from
But as it stands, we all need the truth
Especially me and probably you, probably you
Probably you, definitely you
$20
A heart that won't burst
And lips that don't thirst
I thought of you first
My love is for free, my love
My love is for free
My love is for free, my love
My love is for free
The breath of a bird
A voice never heard
But you knew every word
My love is for free, my love
My love is for free
My love is for free, my love
My love is for free
The dream is enough
The price is too much
But it's nothing to us
My love is for free, my love
My love is for free
My love is for free, my love
My love is for free
Majesty/Magic
See how they twist 'round the room
Oh majesty, oh magic
How could they leave us so soon
Oh majesty, oh magic
Oh majesty, oh magic
Oh majesty, oh magic
Oh majesty, oh magic
Oh majesty, oh magic
Nightingale
Sunrise and I see her eyes
Oh why'd you come, and oh why
Eternally break the spell
I try to tell, but I don't
Oh nightingale, oh nightingale
Oh nightingale don't you cry
So sad and my eyes go dead
So red, so empty, so red
You smile I chase my tail
You laugh like hell, but I don't
Oh nightingale, oh nightingale
Oh nightingale don't you cry
Don't cry, don't cry, don't cry
Oh nightingale, oh nightingale
Oh nightingale, oh nightingale
Oh nightingale, oh nightingale
Nothing
But Heart
I would be your king
But you wanna be free
Confusion and art
I'm nothing but heart
I'm nothing but heart...
Something's Turning Over
As a child I hid between the pages
Cutting secret phrases overhead
But things we turn our back on when we're older
Only drag us back into our bed
Something's turning over
You'd better get out while you can
Something's turning over
Angels setting fire to the ocean
Pirates making liars out of men
No, I don't think we'll ever see their faces
I don't think we'll ever see the end
Something's turning over
You'd better get out while you can
Something's turning over
Get out while you're young
Every now and then I feel them breathing
Moving through the rooms so quietly
And just because you never hear their voices
Don't mean they won't kill you in your sleep
*** Thanx a lot to Sebastiaan for these Lyrics ***
...I Love
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I love little baby ducks
Old pickup trucks
Slow moving trains
And rain
I love little country streets
Sleep without dreams
Sunday school in May
And, hey… and I love you too
I love leaves in the wind
Pictures of my friends
Birds of the world
And squirrels
I love coffee in a cup
Little fuzzy pups
Bourbon in a glass
And grass
And I love you, too
I love honest open smiles
Kisses from a child
Tomatoes on the vine
And onions
I love winners when they cry
Losers when they try
And music when it’s good
And life
And I love you too
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
There's a storm across the valley, clouds are rolling in
The afternoon is heavy on your shoulders
There's a truck out on the four lane, a mile or more away
The whining of his wheels just makes it colder
He's an hour away from riding on your prayers up in the sky
And ten days on the road are barely gone
There's a fire softly burning, supper's on the stove
But it's the light in your eyes that makes him warm
Hey, it's good to be back home again
Sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend
Yes, and hey, it's good to be back home again
There’s all the news to tell him, how's you spend your time
And what's the latest thing the neighbours say
And your mother called last Friday, "Sunshine" made her cry
And you felt the baby move just yesterday
Hey, it's good to be back home again
Sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend
Yes, and hey, it's good to be back home again
Oh, the time that I can lay this tired old body down
And feel your fingers feather soft upon me
The kisses that I live for, the love that lights my way
The happiness that living with you brings me
It's the sweetest thing I know of, just spending time with you
It's the little things that make a house a home
Like a fire softly burning and supper on the stove
The light in your eyes that makes me warm
Hey, it's good to be back home again
Sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend
Yes, and hey, it's good to be back home again
Hey, it's good to be back home again
Sometimes this old farm feels like a long lost friend
Yes, and hey, it's good to be back home again
I said hey, it’s good to be back home again
( Songs for a dead pilot EP )
I don't wanna be there when you're wrong
I don't wanna be there when you find out
I don't wanna be there when you break glass
And I don't wanna be there when they drag you out
You can't speak backwards
You can't save the animals
And I don't wanna be there when you're wrong
And I don't wanna be there when you find out
I don't wanna be there when you break glass
And I don't wanna be there when they drag you out
La la la...
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
You swallowed your tongue
Now you've had your film
They said you did nothing
Because you stood still
Because you stood still
Because you stood still
Your red ragged wings
And cold tiny hands
Will never be able
To count all that sand
To count all that sand
To count all that sand
They said you were sick
Yeah your mighty ill
They said you did nothing
Because you stood still
Because you stood still
Because you stood still
Because you stood still
Because you stood still
( Bob Dylan Cover / A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
How many roads must a man walk down
Before they call him a man
How many seas must a white dove sail
Before she sleeps in the sand
How many times must the cannonballs fly
Before they are forever banned
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind
How many years must a mountain exist
Before it is washed to the sea
How many years can some people exist
Before they're allowed to be free
How many times can a man turn his head
And pretend that he just doesn't see
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind
How many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky
How many years must one man have
Before he can hear people cry
And how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died
The answer, my friend, is blowing in the wind
The answer is blowing in the wind

Blue eyed devil
Blue eyed devil
Born to be a god among salesmen
Working the skinny tie
Slugging down fruit juice
Extra tall extra wide
Blue eyed devil
Blue eyed devil
Thirty three degrees
Six hundred and sixty six
Come on come on come on
Moving door to door to door to door to door to door
Stoned motel room
Nice cool on the bathroom floor
Blue eyed devil
Blue eyed devil
Leave me alone I’m not the devil
Leave me alone I’m not the devil
Leave me alone I’m not the devil
Leave me alone
Blue eyed devil
Blue eyed devil
Blue eyed devil
Blue eyed devil
Bombscare
This time
Your lips won't be afraid
This time
Your hand won't be betrayed
Made my plan
No more counting sand
Your last wish
Your tax on my demands
Another scare
Heathrow won't care
Turning my hair
Once in the air
( Songs for a dead pilot EP )
May I never go
Beyond the mile
May I sleep in places
Where I’m well
Born by the wires
Born by the wires
May I'm building
Castles never done
May I sleep in places
Where I’m well
Born by the wires
Born by the wires

Boyfriends
And girlfriends
And enemies
Those upon which we rely
I can't wait for the day
They place it on my lips
For the boyfriends
And girlfriends
And enemies
And God
I can't wait for the day
They place it on my tongue
Boyfriends
And girlfriends
And enemies

I was so bright
I was so bright
Was so…
I was so bright
Carnival
Queen
( Jandek Cover / A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Carnival queen
All the ghosts lay by your side
Moaning, groaning
Songs of woe
Carnival queen
Your hair is on fire
Your arrows pierce my bones
Angel, madonna
Your eyes are on fire
Breathing quiet prayers
Angel, madonna
You breathe
Pumping life into my veins
Carnival queen
All the ghosts stay by your side
Moaning, groaning
Songs of woe
Carnival queen
Your hair is on fire
Your nails pierce my palms
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Cheek swollen
Part of face
Between mouth and ears
Is included in animals
And humans in entire earth
Unlike eyes
They are not the source of tears
They are a natural element
Originated at natal birth
( Songs for a dead pilot EP )
To a point
You will fail
So I’ll condescend
Without doubt
You will fail
Then I’ll condescend
At a point
I will fail
Still I condescend
To a point
You will fail
So I’ll condescend
Then I’ll condescend
Still I condescend
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
You stay with David
I'll stay with Jude
You stay with David
I'll stay with Jude
Someday, the paperwork
Will all come through
Then I’ll stay with David
And you can stay with Jude
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Don't carry it all
Don't carry it all
Don't carry it all
Don't carry it
Wake up like giants, so tall
With open eyes like Judas and Paul
And John
After all you done
Don't carry it all…
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Whatever you do, don't drop the baby
Whatever you do, don't drop the baby
Whatever you do
Don't drop the baby
The baby is small
The baby needs love
The baby will cry
Whatever you do, don't drop the baby
Whatever you do, don't drop the baby
Whatever you do
Don't drop the baby
Mom will be mad
And you will be sad
The baby will cry
"Remember kids
The baby's got a soft spot on the top of his head
And you should never touch that"
Whatever you do, don't drop the baby
Be careful with the baby
Whatever you do, don't drop the baby
Baby is fragile
Whatever you do
Whatever you do
So, how old are you
Two
Have you ever seen raging bull
No
So is there anything anyone wants to say
Ok we have a gracias
Anything else
Oh John Denver
Song for Nico
I don't know, there's this one band from the sixties and seventies and stuff
from America
They're called the beach boys. Did they come over here
I think they made a record called Holland
Anyway, they where over here for a while and maybe a song... It was in 1972...
Or 3 they did a record called Holland.
This is one of their first songs, and it was really popular in the United States
cause of...
‘Cause on the shores, the waves get really big, we borrowed this thing from
people from Hawaii
And it's called surfing... It's like... skateboarding
Do you have skateboarding around here
Skateboarding is really cool, you should… it's really popular.
Down By
The River
(Neil Young Cover)
Be on my side
I'll be on your side, baby
There is no reason
For you to hide
It's so hard for me
Staying here all alone
When you could be
Taking me for a ride
Yeah, she could drag me
Over the rainbow
Send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river
Dead, oh, shot her dead
You take my hand
I'll take your hand
Together we may get away
This much madness
Is too much sorrow
It's impossible
To make it today
Yeah, she could drag me
Over the rainbow
Send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river
Dead, oh, shot her dead
Be on my side
I'll be on your side, baby
There is no reason
For you to hide
It's so hard for me
Staying here all alone
When you could be
Taking me for a ride
Yeah, she could drag me
Over the rainbow
Send me away
Down by the river
I shot my baby
Down by the river
Dead, oh, shot her dead
Fearless
( Pink Floyd Cover / A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
You say the hill's to steep to climb, climbing
You say you'ld like to see me try, climbing
You pick the place and I'll choose the time
And I'll climb the hill in my own way
Just wait a while for the right day
And as I rise above the tree-line and the clouds
I look down, hearing the sounds of all the things you've said today
Fearlessly the idiot faced the crowd, smiling
Mercyless the magistrate turns round, frowning
And who's the fool who wears the crown
No doubt in your own way
And every day is the right day
And as you rise above the fear-lines in his crown
You look down, hearing the sound of the faces in the growd
You never walk alone, you never walk alone
Walk on, walk on with hope in your heart
And you never walk alone, you never walk alone
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I feel old
I feel cold
I am so blind
Is there something there behind me?
Like a movie
I am mesmerised by my own beat
Like a heartbeat
Like a heartbeat
Like a heartbeat
Hey
Chicago
( Songs for a dead pilot EP )
Hey Chicago
Hey Chicago
Hey Chicago
I'm leaving
Hey that's what you get for stealing
I Am The Lamb
You go west
Where they won't find you
With your mother's breast
And the poison arrows
‘Cause you see black
And I see shadows
I am the lamb
And I'm a dead man
They'll take my name
And feed my children
With my remains
In the holy temple
‘Cause I am the lamb
And I'm a dead man
I am the lamb
And I'm a dead man
I started a
joke
( The Bee Gees Cover / A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I started a joke
That started the whole world crying
But I couldn't see
That the joke was on me
I started to cry
It started the whole world laughing
If I’d only seen
That the joke was on me
I looked at the sky
Running my hands over my eyes
I fell out of bed
Hurting my head from things that I’d said
I finally died
Which started the whole world living
If I’d only seen
That the joke was on me
I looked at the sky
Running my hands over my eyes
I fell out of bed
Hurting my head from things that i'd said
'Til I finally died
It started the whole world living
If I’d only seen
That the joke was on me
Me, me, me...
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Joan of Arc
Will never save you now
But then Joan of Arc
Never promised much
She never knew your name, love
She never knew your name
Such a precious hand
Such a guilty hand
Joan of Arc
Will never save you now
But then Joan of Arc
Never promised much
Joan of Arc
Will never save you now
But then Joan of Arc
Never promised much
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Don't ask me for a favor
Don't ask me for a plea
I'll only do your bidding
If you stop condoling me
But I’ll cry, cry, cry like the best
Cry, cry, cry like the rest
Don't ask me to forgive you
I'm not so kindly blessed
Frustrating as it seems
You're not the first to thank
Excuse me for my needs
There is no other way
So I’ll cry, cry, cry like the best
Cry, cry, cry like the rest
Don't ask me to forgive you
I'm not so kindly blessed
Don't ask me to forgive you
I'm not so kindly blessed
Landlord
( Songs for a dead pilot EP )
Let's keep the landlord in mind
As the microphones pick up
The soft ones
Let's keep the carpets in mind
As the microphones pick up
The soft ones
The loud ones
The slow ones
The bright ones
The meaningful ones
The distance
The good pets
The wordless
The stateless
Last Night I Dreamt
That Somebody Loved Me
( The Smiths Cover / A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Last night I dreamt
That somebody loved me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm
Last night I felt
Real arms around me
No hope, no harm
Just another false alarm
So, tell me how long
Before the last one
And tell me how long
Before the right one
The story is old
I know but it goes on
The story is old
I know but it goes on
Goes on, goes on
Goes on
It goes on
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Lift me up
Like burdens brought past the light
Lift me up
Like one light to daring heights
Lift me up
Like lake of fire, burning white
Burning white
Lift me up
Like building halls counting lights
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
It's been a long long long time
How could I ever have lost you
When I loved you
It took a long long long time
Now I'm so happy I found you
How I love you
So many tears I was searching
So many tears I was wasting, oh, oh
Now I can see you, be you
How can I ever misplace you
How I want you
Oh I love you
You know that I need you
Oh I love you
( Spiritualized Cover / A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Lord, help me out
Take my life, I’m in doubt
Just where my soul will lie
Deep in the earth or way up in the sky
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, hear me at all
All, all my love has left my side
Can't get enough life
Keep me satisfied
And I’ve lost about everything
Lord look what's made out of me
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, hear me at all
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, when I call
Lord can you hear me, hear me at all
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I don't need the lot
I don't need a lot of things
I don't need the past
I don't need a lot of things
I don't need your smile
I don't need a lot of things
I don't need my eyes
I don't need a lot of things
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Wanted
Bring him back alive if you can
All said
You can tell your lies to the dead
Overhead
You don't have to like
What you're fed
Overhead
Overhead
Wanted
Bring him back alive if you can
Trusted
You don't know how fast it could end
Overhead
You don't have to like
What you're fed
Overhead
Overhead
Overhead
Overhead
Peanut Butter Toast And American Bandstand

Peanut Butter Toast and American Bandstand
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I am not a prisoner
I'm not a prisoner but I’m in prison
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
You wanna sleep on the bottom
You wanna look up and see them shout
Tonight
You wanna sleep on the bottom
You want your voice in this life to
Abide
This life
This life
This life
This life
This life
This life
This life
( The Beach Boys Cover / A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Little surfer my dear one
What makes my heart come undone
Do you love me surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl
I have watched you on the shore
Standing at the ocean's door
Do you love me little surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl
We could ride the surf together
As our love would grow
In my woodie I would take you
Everywhere I go
So I say from me to you
I could make your dreams come true
Do you love me do you surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl
Surfer girl my little surfer girl
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Who wades through fire
Who's the champion
It's written on your back
Build it up, but they can't
Tear down
Tear down
Who fades the lights
Who needs the net
It's written on your back
Build it up, but they can't
Tear down
Tear down
Tear down
Tear down
Down, down
Down, down
The Last
Snowstorm Of The Year
When we were young
We wanted to die
But the sound of a drum
And the words of a child
Brought different light
Now no one can tell
The winter was nice
But the summer is hell
The ground was so hard
The nights were so long
But we suffered the dark
And we wrote all those songs
Still I was a fool
I covered my ears
No I would not face the last snowstorm of the year
No I would not face the last snowstorm of the year
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Don't speak
Those boys don't know you
Those boys think you're so empty
You know that death is in your mind
Close to the frozen borderline
And you'll never have to be those girls again
And you'll never have to be those girls again
Here you come with your reputations
Your hesitations
And your song
And you'll never have to be those girls again
You'll never have to be those girls again
And you'll never have to be those girls again
And you'll never have to be those girls again
Tired
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I'm tired of history
I'm tired of maths
I'm tired of history
I'm tired of maths
I'm tired of history
I'm tired of maths
I'm tired of long divisions
I'm tired of the past
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Wouldn't you say it's over by now
Wouldn't you say it's over
Tomorrow makes tomorrow up
Today I’ve learned to feed myself
To choose the words to choose the weight
To break the hand of someone else
Wouldn't you say it's over by now
Wouldn't you say it's over
Wouldn't you say it's over by now
Wouldn't you say it's over
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Try try try to live the lie
But everybody knows it's me
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I picked the guy
Dragged the lake
It's turning over
Turn around
I played the part, I
Made you wait
It's turning over
Turn around
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Venus
I can hardly see you
Venus
I can hardly see you
You're fed up with your friends
You're fed up with the end
You're fed up with the make-up
Make-up
Venus
Have you ever seen us
Venus
Have you ever seen us
You're fed up with your friends
You're fed up with the end
You're fed up with the make-up
Make-up
Have you seen my dreams
They're the same as yours it seems
Venus
I can hardly see you
Venus
Oh I can hardly see you
See you
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
I'll walk you out
I'll take the weight
You'll never build it
You'll never stay
I will walk you out
I'll walk you out
You will feel cold
Cry to me often
Remember this, you won't
I will walk you out
I will walk you out
I will walk you out
I will walk you out
( A Lifetime of Temporary Relief LP )
Blinded by love
I was lost in the dark
And I fell down real hard
Should've known from the start
When you walked out on me
I was put in my place
Now you can tell where I’ve been
By the smile on my face
So I’ll go on
Don't retrace my steps
But I might just come back
Like I never left
When you walked out on me
I was put in my place
Now you can tell where I’ve been
By the smile on my face
Now you can tell where I’ve been
By the smile on my face
Will the night
( Songs for a dead pilot EP )
Will the night last forever
Stay by my side
'Cause tonight, together
Would be divine
But once it's gone
Your face to hide
Against the sun
The moon
Am i on the other side
So blind
So long
Goodbye
Goodnight
